Booker grad Keaton in the running for Freshman All-America honors

The Football Writers Association of America has its eyes on Marshall University redshirt freshman Talik Keaton.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Booker High graduate was placed on the midseason watch list for the organization’s Freshman All-America team on Wednesday. The wide receiver and punt returner currently ranks eighth among all NCAA FBS players with an average of 13.6 yards per punt return.

Keaton made an immediate impact for the Thundering Herd with an electrifying 67-yard punt return for a touchdown in a season-opening 56-17 win over visiting VMI. He has also caught six passes for 83 yards this season for Marshall (4-3, 2-1 in Conference USA play).
